The plot starts off tangled up taking a couple chapters to unwind itself. But once the action gets going it was hard to put down.
The final battle scene was well written.
While this story ends with a satisfying ending, it leaves room for a sequel.
This story is aimed more towards the young adult teen readers, yet I found it to be pleasantly entertaining to read.
One last comment, One of the sisters, Raine, is a lesbian in a committed relationship. There is no sex or strong violence in this book.
I recommend this story to young adult readers of the paranormal, and LGBT genres.

I enjoyed reading this book
I picked this book for my kindle. I enjoyed the story and the characters. This would have been a great beginning to a series. Well written and the story has a quick pace to it.
"Echo" is easy to read, yet has a multilayered plot. Keeps you in anticipation of what is on the next page. I do not read many books, prefer to watch films, but read this one with delight. It has varied characters, who have interwoven relationships amongst each other. Love, compassion and mutual respect are highly valued here. Magical powers of the elements are separate characters too who assist in the quest. The only upsetting thing about this book was that my favorite character dies quite early in the story.
